George A. Dunscomb recognized for honorable service to the town

WHEREAS
, George A. Dunscomb has served the Town of Oro Valley and its residents for twenty-two years as the Oro Valley Magistrate Judge, and has dedicated his career to serving justice in the public interest; and
WHEREAS
, Judge Dunscomb supported or established programs designed to assist individuals adjudicated in his court who may have underlying mental health or addiction issues by referring them to the regional Veterans Court, or to a Diversion Court established under his leadership; and
WHEREAS
, during his tenure, Judge Dunscomb has dedicated time to supporting the Town of Oro Valley and the City of Tucson through community services such as the Warrant Resolution Program; and
WHEREAS
, Judge Dunscomb actively participated in community engagement activities to provide mentorship to local youth by volunteering with the Arizona Foundation for Legal Services and Education; and
WHEREAS
, in his capacity as a department director with the Town of Oro Valley, Judge Dunscomb was an active member of the Town Manager's Executive Leadership Team, contributing ideas, input and accomplishments for the benefit of the organization, and was recognized for his work promoting health and wellness in the workplace by being named a recipient of the Wellness Council of Arizona 2019 Champions of Worksite Wellness: Senior Leadership.
NOW, THEREFORE
, I, Joseph C. Winfield, Mayor of the Town of Oro Valley, Arizona do hereby proclaim that George A. Dunscomb is hereby recognized for his honorable service and contributions to the Town of Oro Valley and to its residents since 1999, and offer our profound thanks and best wishes in his retirement on behalf of a grateful community.
