ORO VALLEY, Ariz. (Feb. 24, 2025) – The Town of Oro Valley is excited to announce the launch of OV Trails Connect, a resident-driven effort to enhance Oro Valley’s trails and multi-use path network. This initiative will serve as a guide for improving connectivity, identifying opportunities for enhancement, and ensuring OV’s trails and multi-use paths meet the needs of all users and abilities.
The Town invites residents to participate by sharing their opinions and ideas. Whether you stroll, roll, hike, trot, or run—we need your help to shape the future of Oro Valley’s paths and trails! Share your ideas through an online survey, join a trailside chat, and sign up for the Trails Stakeholder Group in March. Residents can also engage through interactive mapping tools and submit comments at www.OVTrailsConnect.com. Everyone’s voice is needed for this planning effort.

“Community participation is critical to shaping the future of Oro Valley’s trails and multi-use paths,” said Bayer Vella, Town of Oro Valley Planning Division Manager. “OV Trails Connect will build a vision and action plan that reflects the immediate and future needs of path and trail users.”
Community involvement will directly shape the project’s recommendations for future connectivity, comfort features like shade and seating, and aesthetic amenities like landscaping and public art.
The specific focus of OV Trails Connect will be to include and address both:
- Unpaved trails, or natural paths used for hiking and equestrian activities, such as Big Wash, Panorama Trails, and Honeybee Canyon Park; and,
- Paved multi-use paths, such as The Chuck Huckleberry Loop, Vistoso Trails Nature Preserve, or other MUPs separated from roadways like those along Tangerine Road and La Cañada Drive.
OV Trails Connect is a separate planning effort from the OV’s Path Forward 2026 General Plan update, focusing specifically on trails and multi-use paths. Public involvement ensures that community voices are at the forefront of crafting a plan that guides future Town decisions and action items. Once complete, the plan will serve as a roadmap for the Town’s future improvements and investments in Oro Valley’s network of trails and multi-use paths.
