ORO VALLEY, Ariz. (April 18, 2025) — Over the course of two days, the Town of Oro Valley will perform road maintenance on various segments of Shannon Road and Lambert Lane, starting Thursday, April 24, 2025. Crews will return Monday, April 28, to perform painting.

This project involves three nearby work zones and will result in high traffic impacts. Work includes roadway surface treatment and striping to improve safety. The schedule is subject to change based on weather conditions.

While Town staff and contractors will work to minimize impacts during peak school and commuter hours, drivers are strongly encouraged to use alternate routes where possible. Significant lane restrictions will be in place both days across the impacted areas. The Oro Valley Police Department and traffic control crews will assist at key intersections to help manage traffic flow.

Traffic impacts:

  • Shannon Road (between Lambert Lane and Naranja Drive)

Traffic control will be in place due to proximity to Ironwood Ridge High School.

  • Lambert Lane (from the western town limits through the La Cholla Boulevard intersection)

Lane restrictions in both directions; significant delays expected. See *new traffic pattern below.

  • Lambert Lane (between Pusch View Lane and First Avenue)
Traffic control will be in place at adjacent intersections to ensure safety.

And good news!

⚠️*New Traffic Pattern: As part of the Lambert Ln. to La Cholla Blvd. project, east-westbound pavement markings at the Lambert/La Cholla intersection will be updated to include a newly dedicated right-turn lane. This update is designed to improve traffic flow and reduce backups.

Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes wherever possible, drive cautiously and expect delays, and follow posted signage while watching for bicyclists and pedestrians. For questions, contact the Town of Oro Valley Public Works Department at 520-229-4850 or PW@orovalleyaz.gov.

Thank you for your patience as we work to improve roadway safety.
