“50 Businesses for 50 Years” Shop OV program continues early success

ORO VALLEY, Ariz. (Aug. 23, 2024) – As the Town of Oro Valley celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2024, the “50 Businesses for 50 Years” Shop OV program has achieved tremendous success. Launched earlier this year in collaboration with the Greater Oro Valley Chamber of Commerce, the program has become a vital initiative to bolster local business.

“Strong local businesses are the backbone of a healthy community,” said Kristen Sharp, President & CEO of the Oro Valley Chamber of Commerce. “We're thrilled to see the enthusiastic participation in this special program, which not only honors OV’s 50-year legacy but also celebrates our local business community.”

Program metrics to date:

  • 30 Chamber grand prize winners have been announced.
  • More than 40 additional prizes have been awarded by participating businesses.
  • More than $25,000 in prizes have been distributed, including the Chamber’s grand prize bundle valued at $660, featuring a one-night stay at El Conquistador Tucson, A Hilton Resort, and other local favorites.
  • The program has also generated impressive social media engagement, with 40 reels and 19 posts reaching more than 45,000 views on Instagram and garnering 2,000 likes across platforms.

As the program continues for the remainder of the year, more exciting businesses are set to be featured.

The Town of Oro Valley and the Oro Valley Chamber of Commerce remain dedicated to promoting and supporting local businesses through this initiative, and we encourage residents to stay engaged and explore the unique offerings of our community through this program.

How to participate:

1. Visit and support: Explore the featured businesses during their two-week spotlight. New businesses will be introduced regularly, so stay tuned for updates.

2. Enter the raffle: Take a moment to immerse yourself in the unique offerings of each business and enter the raffle. One entry per visit, please.

3. Win and pick up: At the end of each two-week period, lucky winners will be drawn and contacted. Winners have two weeks to pick up their prizes.
